In fact, the Hegel H190v can be described more as a kind of all-in-one, at least if you mainly listen to streaming music. After all, with the built-in streaming module you are – after connecting a set of appropriate speakers – immediately ready for business. The streaming part can handle Apple AirPlay 2, has no trouble with UPnP either, is Roon Ready and features Spotify connect. A nice detail is that it also supports the IP protocol for smart home control. As for digital inputs, you have a choice of 3 x optical, coaxial and USB. Furthermore, an RJ45 Ethernet connector is provided. Then there are analog inputs: an MM phono input and three line inputs. Of these, one is symmetrical in the form of the well-known XLR connector. If you wish, listening to headphones is among the possibilities; a 6.3 mm jack is available for precisely that purpose.

The power amplifier in the Hegel 190v is a class AB setup with a maximum power of 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms. Notable here is the high damping factor of 4000 specified by the manufacturer. The whole unit weighs 14 kilograms.

The Hegel 190v will be available from May this year, in white or black for a price of €3795. Though the device cannot yet be found on the manufacturer’s website, we saw it for example on the website of Dutch audio store Stassen Hifi (see screenshot at the top).
